I'm sick and tired of watching our local elected officials sitting on their hands and doing nothing to stop this obama agenda. Kevin McCarthy is doing nothing. He should be pushing the investigations into why this crook is able to get away with violating our constitution and laws to advance his own agenda. Cap and trade is a poorly veiled plan to Tax and limit U.S. based business. The "science' supporting global warming is suspect, hence, Cap and Trade is all the more suspect. On Aug. 28, 2010, there will be a Mega Tea Party at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. We will be meeting Glenn Beck there. Unknown what will happen from that point. I was at teh D.C. Tea Party March last Sept. 12. It was awsome. Several of us from Fresno and various other states met back there.
I am interested in putting together a charter flight to D.C. if we can get enough people willing to sign up. I was on a Charter from Fresno to New York on a Boeing 747 for a 911 honor event. That too was awsome. Of course we would want to do a package deal including plane trip, hotel, transportation to and from while we are back there. When we went last Sept. we stayed in Baltimore and took the subway into D.C. I prefer Baltimore to D.C., but either would be okay. Any ideas you have would be welcome.
I am not a travel agent, nor would I make any money or benefit from this in any way other than to see a lot of people from this area involved in this event in D.C. I have no idea what the cost per person would be, but I am thinking about a thousand dollars for everything except food, although it was much less than that when I went to New York and that included a lot of charter bus rides and a broadway show. If there are enough people interested to fill a 757, I will look into it.

Concerning Capt. Nemo's comments on global warming dated 2/16/2010 there are only two possible conclutions one can make. 1. Capt. Nemo is completely uniformed as to the recent events concerning the absolute fraud and deciet that make up the lie of "global warming". Or 2. he is a complete idiot trying to perpetuate a myth that has cost U.S. tax payers billons of dollars and tens of thousands of jobs. worse, it has given control of our lives over to a greedy out of control government! All of the evidence that Nemo cites has no basis in any real science. The "evidence" that has accumulated in the world meteorological records was placed there at the wishes of radical enviromentalists who were not scientists and had no scientific basis to backup their claims. This revelation is one of the things that derailed the Copenhagen talks. As for the receding glaciers, there is sound geological evidence reguarding the isthmus of Panama and the techtonic plates under it that has led to the loss of the glaciers, not global warming. Capt. Nemo is right about one thing, however, he is no scientist!
Like it or not the planet is getting warmer. Regardless how much snow you have in your yard. It's mean temperture global averages for the entire planet. Millions of global tempeature readings over a 24 hour period averaged over 365 days so yeah you get snow. I have been watching this for over twenty five years and when the data first started coming in it was one of those moments of, this can't be right, check it again. So if you'll drop the bias and just have a non-emtional look at the situation you might be able to understand why this is such a big issue.

Move from a 1500 sq ft house from 1960 with no air conditioning like we didn't have when I was a kid. To a 3000 sqft house house with all the toys and you see the idea behind a carbon footprint. One person six times the need, doubled. Add China coming online in the next decade and we double down on the usage of today in a decade. Then comes India. The miracle of compound interest. Growth will not be stopped but consumption can be slowed. As we pull carbon out of the ground and pump it into the air we have changed the balance. Try taking too much salt out of your gumbo or chicken noodle soup. Deforestation and wetland loss has caused us to lose the most efficient way of pulling carbon back down to the earth. We now turn rainforests into deserts instead of deserts into rainforests .Double the output and cut the sponge in half and you increase by 8. We are now in the process of tripling and quadrupling the output. So carbon stays in the air or gets absorbed into the oceans which then get warmer.
And they are warmer. The documentation starts from seafarer log books all the way back to Sir Fransis Drake in the 1600's. The East India Trading company, Spanish, English and French warships. Temperatures have been steadily on the increase since the dawn of the industrial revolution and have kept pace with population increases and advancements in industrial capacity pound for pound all the way through which is why the claim is made that it is us causing the change. I know from first hand the glaciers are melting. I won't go into the stories bacause my fingers would cramp. But ice sheets 50'000 years old are gone in some places. Arctic sea ice goes in the summer and comes back in the winter but the very old thick ice is gone. It makes no difference whether or not you like polar bears, the ice could care less what you think. A chunk the size of Rhode Island broke off in the Arctic and caused a shipping hazard in the North Atlantic, three times, it was very very old ice. This ice is fresh water which lowers the salinity of the seas messing with an already stressed out fish stock while also playing potential havoc with the Atlantic pump. This is the ocean current which causes Europe to have the same weather as we do in the US while being much farther north. They should be frozen in like Canada. Look on your globe. Warm air and water travel over the surface heading east and when it cools in the North Sea it sinks and travels back to the Americas as an undercurrent then warms and rises again in the Carribean and Florida Straights creating the ocean currents. I have sailed on 4 crossings and buddy they run like the Mississippi, constant. When the oceans get warmer this will change. To what? We can't even guess but standard weather patterns will be gone. Ever try to start your car in Minnesota at 4:00 in the morning, dead of winter? Try starting the Atlatic Ocean if it stops. And it can stop, just like any other circulation it needs power and that power comes from the difference in temperature. Change the temperature and you change the game.
I was not surprised at climate gate. It only stands to reason some group of self important dillitante's were going to pull some boneheaded manipulation for self promotion and get caught. But the amount of false data compared to the volume of pages, I was surprised there was not more, humans being what they are. With so much going on and so many different people involved it was just a matter of time. More likely to happen than not. I also did not care at all for the closed door aspect of the climate discussions. Invite the opposition, maybe find some other helpful pieces of infomation to add in. Or just prove in public the Earth is flat. From the sublime to the ridiculous the truth lies somwhere in the middle. Although, I get the feeling that the guys in the middle of figuring out what's going on are very freaked out. I'm shocked by the info and I'm not up to the moment with data. Thank God for small favors. And yes Al Gore is an idiot.

The weather doesn't care what we think but we have to care because we need realiable weather patterns to survive. If we lose one year snow pack feeding the Colorado river the West Coast goes dry. If I could move back to Germany, Holland or make a living again in the Carribean I would but I'm am an American citizen and this is my home. I want my government to control the corporations who try to control me but we have it in reverse. They buy our politicians and then we give them our taxes. Which they give to corporations. I lived in Europe for over 12 years on and off and have seen their brand of socialism and it works very well.
They count their unemployed by how many citizens there are between 18 and 65 and subtract from that the number of people working and that is their unemployment number. Pretty basic trasparent stuff. They count people in prison and school as unemployed so yes they run at 25%. We only count the ones who haven't yet lost hope and gone to cash. Or the street. So our numbers are crap. No they are a lie.

Dear Ilikemycoffeeblack: If you're afraid that we're going to run out of gas, you'll have to wait a couple of more centuries, because gas and oil known reserves have been increasing, not decreasing. This is due to improvements in technology in getting oil out of the ground and in finding it. And down the road a couple of hundred years, if indeed we do run out, there are numerous other sources of energy such as fuel cells and fusion. I'm confident that a robust free economy where inovation is rewarded can meet this challenge so future generations will be able to drive (or fly) the future equivalents of Hummers and SUVs. Surely you'll admit that advances in technology have been extraordinary. The real danger is a government that kills incentive and innovation through high taxation, forcing equal outcomes, phony crises such as global warming, socialism, class warfare, and excessive or irrational regulations. And yes, this country is based on freedom. That means we are free to spend our money the way we want to, regardless of who thinks it might be frivolous. Do you remember: "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?" That alone is enough to declare "God bless America."

Well it's been over 30 days since our April 15th Tea Parties. How do you all feel now? Focused? Committed? Disallusioned? Apathetic? Confused? Directionless? If you are anything but "Focused" and "Committed" you are not helping move the "Tea Party" agenda forward. Perhaps that's it...maybe there are so many different agenda groups you don't know which one boat to jump in and grabbing an oar. I have a thought I would like to share. Where ever you are on the emotion meter, and no matter which particular agenda group you are aligned with at the moment, the good news we all have the same anger, the same disgust, the same "fed up" feeling from the bottom or our feet to the top of our head. That much we all have in common. And, obviously we all want to see a unified movment with some direction, goal, with a winning strategy. When we break it all down, regardless of which specific battle you have picked to fight, or which specific 'government program' is goading you at the moment, I think we can all agree "taxation without represntation" is as valid a complaint today as it was in 1776. Sure we have representatives, and senators from our respective districts who austensibly are there to represent us "little people." But what is the reality? The reality is, Washington is run by an army of special interest lobbyist who work the hallowed halls congress like a bunch of pimps on the back streets of "name your most infamous city." These lobbyists have the eyes and ears of our "elected" senators and representatives 24/7. They even write many of the bills that congress votes in to existence without even reading that they shove down our throats. This is what "all" of our "gripes" have in common. All our "greviences" came into existence by and large this way, except of course for the legislation that comes directly from the federal bench. But here too, you will find heavy pressure by lobbying groups precede these Federal Bench Edicts as well. I agree with the sentiment already expressed by others: we would do well to vote out the entire lot, and get fresh people in and start over. But, I digress from my main focus...LOBBYISTS....they are the "other woman"and "other man" in our representatives' lives, and they are stealing away what is rightfully ours. The question is "what are we going to do about it? The number one priority we should have is to focus on getting rid of these home wrecking lobbyists before the fundemental change you are looking for to address the particular concern you voiced in our 'tea party' communit. The "lobbyist" is our common enemy. And I believe in the old addage, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." Change will never come FROM Washington D.C. We MUST take "CHANGE" TO Washington D.C. How? You ask? By learning about and supporting the most feared catalyist for change known to liberal democrats, and status quo republicans today. The "FairTax" Bill HR-25. We have to change our current taxation structure before any of our vast array of concerns will be addressed. The number one benefit/result of implementing the FAIRTAX bill is that it will eliminate the functions of special interest lobbyists who have manipulated the tax code for way too many years. Dividing "we the people" pitting one demograhic group against another. Stealing from one neighbor so that polticians can buy votes from another neighbor. I think anyone honest person would agree, that is so far from what our forefathers envisioned in 1776. I truly believe, if you haven't already, if you will learn what this bill would do, and how its natural motivators for positive, productive, accountable, self reliant human behavior would turn so many of the things that are upside down today, right side up again. I urge you to take a quick look at these short utube skits that give a good flavor of the contrast of what we have now, and what could be. Simplicity, voluntary compliance, individual American pride and self respect, justice, natural stimulus, freedom, have all been eroded if not destroyed completely by our current Federal taxation schemes operating under our own "Gestopo" buracracy known as the IRS.

Hey! the EPA wants to call carbon dioxide from breathing a pollutant gas! Are we all going to stop breathing or is this somehow connected to the "Abortion Debate" and another excuse to limit the planet's population? Good luck controlling India and China! Or Africa, for that matter. We will have a new Malaria vaccine pretty soon, so fewer will pass on from that scourge on humanity. I guess we will just kill off more people from MRSA (antibiotic resistant bacteria), since there will be less incentive for phamaceutical companies to develop new antibiotics once Single-Payer National Health care is passed. The USA could save billions just cleaning up the FRAUD in Medicare and Medicaid!
I think it is an understatement to say Cap & Trade is a government intrusion. Cap & Trade is another government economic dictatorship act. $700-1400 additional energy cost per year per family as a result of this! Not to mention the additional cost to businesses. It is outrageous.

Between the taxing of corporations which hits shareholders… anyone with a (401k or 529 college plan for their kids) not to mention consumers and this new cap and trade bill they are proposing, it looks like 100% of Americas are getting the short end of the stick, with the exception of the politicians that will have more leverage on companies so I’m sure they will be getting many favors.
